About the Role

As a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at a leading consumer and manufacturing-led D2C brand, your role will be crucial in partnering with the founders to drive financial strategy, operational excellence, and scalable growth. You will need to bring a strong blend of manufacturing finance expertise, D2C/e-commerce understanding, and strategic business partnering in a high-growth, omnichannel environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Manufacturing & Supply Chain Finance

  • - Lead BOM costing, conversion cost optimization, and wastage control
    - Drive product-level unit economics and margin improvement
    - Ensure end-to-end inventory visibility (RM, WIP, FG), including stock ageing, demand-led inventory planning, and managing demand-supply alignment.

  • • Retail & D2C Channel Finance

  • - Own store P&L and retail performance metrics
    - Drive own-channel economics and store productivity
    - Establish strong controls around returns, refurbishment economics, and leakage minimization.

  • • Growth & Marketing Finance

  • - Partner with growth teams to optimize CAC, LTV, ROAS, and payback periods
    - Drive channel-level ROI tracking and marketing efficiency
    - Enable data-driven decision-making on marketing spends and investments.

  • • Commercial Business Partnering

  • - Act as a strategic advisor to founders and leadership teams
    - Drive decision-making on pricing strategies, product/category investments, profitability, and margin expansion
    - Build a strong understanding of product lifecycle economics.

  • • Financial Controllership & Compliance

  • - Establish strong MIS, closing discipline, and internal controls
    - Ensure robust cash flow and working capital management
    - Lead GST and D2C taxation compliance, statutory and internal audits, and ERP implementation and integration.

  • • Systems & Process Excellence

  • - Lead ERP implementation and integration across functions and channels
    - Build scalable and efficient finance processes and controls
    - Oversee e-commerce financial operations, including payment settlements, commission structures, and refunds management.

  • • Fundraising & Investor Management

  • - Support and lead end-to-end fundraising cycles
    - Drive financial storytelling, investor decks, and due diligence readiness
    - Manage relationships with investors and external stakeholders.

    Qualifications Required:

  • • 14 to 16 years of experience in manufacturing finance, D2C/e-commerce business models, and retail/store-led operations

  • • Strong mix of controllership, business finance, and growth finance

  • • Experience in inventory-heavy, high-SKU environments

  • • Prior exposure to startup/scale-up ecosystems preferred.
