About the Role

As a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) based in Chennai, you will play a crucial role in the organization by overseeing finance operations in project-driven business environments, particularly within engineering services, EPC, or oil & gas/energy sectors. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading end-to-end finance operations, encompassing controllership, reporting, and compliance

• Driving commercial and project finance, evaluating project economics and contracts

• Collaborating with leadership on strategic decision-making and growth initiatives, such as geographical expansion

• Managing treasury, working capital, banking relationships, and funding strategies

• Strengthening financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management

• Ensuring robust governance, audit, and risk management frameworks

• Building and scaling a finance function aligned with business growth

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Qualifications:

• 15-20 years of progressive finance leadership experience

• Background in engineering/EPC/energy/project-based industries

• Experience managing the full finance function and leading teams

• Exposure to international operations and global stakeholders

• Experience in corporate finance activities, including M&A

Skills:

• Strong controllership and governance expertise

• Deep understanding of project and commercial finance

• Expertise in FP&A, budgeting, and reporting

• Strong treasury and working capital management experience

• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-cultural collaboration

Mandatory Requirements:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

• Strong knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP

• Accounting experience in an operating entity

• Strong project and commercial finance exposure

• Experience in geographical expansion

• Expertise in treasury, working capital, and banking management

• Industry experience in energy/engineering/EPC

• Exposure to corporate finance/M&A
