The Organization

Our client is one of Indias leading and most respected real estate developers with a multi-billion dollar portfolio across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors. The residential business is the group's largest vertical and the primary engine for its next phase of growth.


The group is currently undergoing a significant transformation, moving from a promoter-driven culture to a highly professionalized leadership structure. Following a successful REIT and substantial capital infusion, the group is now poised for aggressive expansion, specifically focusing on its entry and scale-up in the Mumbai market.

The Role

The CFO for the Residential Business will report directly to the Chairman. You will serve as a strategic partner to the promoter and the senior leadership team, providing the financial oversight and strategic guidance necessary to scale the business. This is not just a controllership role. It is a leadership position designed for someone who understands how to manage large-scale capital, drive project profitability, and navigate the complexities of high-stakes real estate growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Growth:

- Partner with the Chairman and CEO to drive the residential growth strategy.

- Provide financial leadership for the 4 to 5 major launches planned for Mumbai this year.

Capital Allocation & Fundraising:

- Manage the deployment of capital following recent institutional infusions.

- Oversee project financing, cash flow management, and capital structure optimization for the residential portfolio.

Business Transformation:

- Lead the shift toward a professionalized, data-driven finance function.

- Ensure financial systems and processes are robust enough to support a rapidly scaling, high-volume business.

Operational Excellence:

- Work closely with the COO and project teams to monitor project IRRs, construction costs, and sales velocity.

- Drive margin improvement through sharp financial discipline.

Governance & Compliance:

- Establish world-class governance standards.

- Ensure the business is "market-ready" at all times in terms of transparency, reporting, and internal controls.

Promoter Partnership:

- Act as a trusted advisor to the promoter group. Navigate the balance between entrepreneurial speed and institutional rigor.

The Ideal Profile

- Real Estate Expertise: You must have deep experience in the Indian real estate sector, ideally within a large, Tier-1 developer in Mumbai or Delhi.

- Promoter Experience: A proven track record of working closely with promoters in a high-growth environment. You understand how to build trust while driving professionalization.

- Growth Orientation: You have seen "0 to 1" or "1 to 10" scale. You are comfortable with the pace of multiple simultaneous project launches.

- Financial Rigor: Experience with IPO readiness, REITs, or large-scale private equity engagements is highly preferred.

- Leadership: You are a builder of teams. You can attract and mentor high-quality finance talent in a changing organizational culture.
