Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)



Location: Gorakhpur Uttar Pradesh

Industry: Distillery / Manufacturing

Reporting To: Managing Director / Board of Directors


Role Overview:


The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the financial strategy and operations of the distillery plant, ensuring strong financial governance, strategic planning, and efficient financial management. The role requires deep knowledge of manufacturing finance, excise regulations, and plant-level financial controls.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership




  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
    Drive long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
    Advise management and board on key financial decisions and risks.


  • Financial Operations & Control




  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, MIS, taxation, and audit.
    Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reports, statements, and reconciliations.
    Strengthen internal controls, cost management, and financial discipline across the plant.


  • Compliance & Regulatory Management




  • Ensure compliance with Excise laws, GST, Income Tax, and other statutory regulations specific to the distillery industry.
    Liaise with government departments and regulatory authorities as required.
    Ensure adherence to all financial, environmental, and operational compliance norms.


  • Costing & Profitability




  • Lead cost optimization initiatives across production, procurement, logistics, and supply chain.
    Monitor raw material costing (molasses/grain), energy consumption patterns, and yield efficiencies.
    Conduct profitability analysis of product lines and projects.


  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management




  • Manage cash flow planning, working capital, and fund utilization.
    Maintain strong banking relationships and oversee fund-raising activities if required.
    Monitor credit, debt levels, and financial risks.


  • Strategic Projects & Business Growth




  • Support expansion, modernization, and capacity enhancement projects.
    Conduct financial feasibility studies for new ventures or product lines.
    Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions or partnerships.


  • Team Leadership




  • Lead, mentor, and strengthen the finance & accounts team.
    Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.


    Qualifications & Experience:



    Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory; Additional MBA (Finance) preferred.
    1525 years of experience, with minimum 710 years in a manufacturing setup, preferably distillery, brewery, sugar, or FMCG processing.
    Strong knowledge of Excise laws, GST, plant costing, MIS, and treasury management.
    Proven experience in strategic planning, financial governance, and team leadership.
