About the Role

- Role: Business CFO / Finance Head

- Location: India, Mumbai

- Reporting to: CFO & COO

Role Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Leadership, Governance & Controllership

- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures, ensuring statutory compliance under the Companies Act, GST, and Income Tax regulations, and managing internal and external audits.

- Strengthen internal controls, ensure audit readiness, and maintain integrity and reliability of financial reporting.

2. Financial Planning, Analysis & Performance Management

- Drive the annual operating plan (AOP), budgeting processes, and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with business strategy.

- Develop and institutionalize robust MIS dashboards covering revenue performance versus targets, gross and contribution margins, cost structures, and utilisation metrics.

- A strong focus will be placed on variance analysis, identifying root causes, and driving clear, time-bound action plans in partnership with business leaders.

3. Business Finance - Delivery & Sales Enablemen t:

- The role will establish end-to-end visibility into business performance across delivery and sales.

- From a delivery finance perspective, this includes monitoring project-level profitability, utilisation, and cost efficiency, while proactively identifying and addressing cost overruns and operational inefficiencies.

- From a sales finance standpoint, the role will validate deal pricing and margin assumptions, track sales pipeline versus conversion and revenue realisation, and institutionalise structured pre-deal financial validation as well as post-deal performance tracking.

4. Margin Improvement & Cost Optimisation :

- Identify and eliminate margin leakages across projects and accounts.

- The incumbent will drive focused initiatives on cost control, resource optimisation, and pricing discipline, ensuring sustainable margin improvement while supporting business scalability.

5. Revenue Assurance: Ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with contractual terms and delivery milestones, preventing revenue leakages and financial misstatements, and ensuring alignment between finance, delivery, and commercial teams.

6. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Improve cash flow visibility and discipline by strengthening billing processes, accelerating collections, optimizing the receivables cycle, and closely monitoring DSO and cash flow forecasts.

7. Business Reviews & Performance Governance: Establish structured and disciplined performance review mechanisms, including weekly business performance reviews and monthly financial reviews. Reporting formats and dashboards will be standardized to enable clear, consistent, and decision-oriented discussions with senior leadership.

8. Alignment & Integration Support: Align reporting formats and governance standards where required and support integration initiatives, ensuring consistency without disrupting business operations.

9. Team Leadership & Capability Building: Assess, develop, and strengthen the team, driving capability building, process improvements and adoption of best practices.

Candidate Profile

- Chartered Accountant (mandatory); MBA Finance preferred

- 16-20 years of experience

- Strong experience in:

- IT services / project-based organisations

- Business finance and controllership

- Experience in driving financial discipline in growing organisations

- Translate financial data into business insights
