Job Title : Associate Director Platform & Reliability Engineering

Location : Bangalore

Exp : 15+ years

- This role owns platform readiness, enterprise readiness, and full automation across the engineering lifecycle.

- The mandate is to eliminate ad hoc processes and build a fully automated, governed, scalable, multi-cloud, and audit-ready platform.

- You will define how systems are built, deployed, validated, and operated in production ensuring reliability, security, compliance, and auditability by design.

Core Responsibilities :

- Own and lead Platform Engineering across DevOps, SRE, QA, and Production.

- Drive end to end automation across infrastructure, CI/CD, testing, deployments, and monitoring.

- Establish platform readiness by standardizing environments, eliminating configuration drift, and ensuring scalable, resilient architecture.

- Own enterprise readiness, including auditability, release governance, security controls, and compliance with enterprise client expectations.

- Define and enforce SRE practices, including SLAs, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and RCA discipline.

- Own Quality Engineering as a gatekeeper, ensuring automated testing, strict validation, and no release without certification.

- Own production systems as a first-class responsibility, ensuring uptime, performance, stability, and operational excellence.

- Define and enforce platform standards across all teams, with authority to mandate compliance.

- Eliminate all non-standard and ad-hoc practices through platform-led governance with no exceptions.

- Build a self-service platform with strong guardrails, enabling developer speed with control and compliance.

Critical Skillsets (Must Have) :

- Multi-Cloud & Infrastructure Strong hands-on experience across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure, with deep expertise in at least one and working knowledge of others.

- Experience designing multi-account/multi-project/multi-subscription architectures with network isolation, IAM, and security boundaries.

- Platform Engineering Proven experience building internal developer platforms (IDP) or platform layers that enable self-service deployments.

- Strong understanding of platform abstraction, standardization, and reusable services.

DevOps & Automation Expertise in building fully automated CI/CD pipelines :

- Build, test, deploy, rollback

- Blue green / canary deployments

- Release approvals and governance Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent) and eliminating manual infra workflows.

SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Strong experience implementing :

- SLAs, SLIs, SLOs and error budgets

- Incident management and on-call systems

- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) frameworks

Reliability engineering and fault tolerance Experience improving :

- MTTR

- System uptime

- Deployment success rate

Observability & Production Systems Hands-on experience with :

- Centralized logging, metrics, and distributed tracing

- Proactive alerting and monitoring systems

- Production debugging and performance tuning

- Strong experience owning production systems at scale.

- Enterprise Readiness & Governance Proven experience building enterprise-grade systems, including Full auditability and traceability of deployments

- Release governance and approval workflows

- Security controls (RBAC, IAM, secrets management)

- Compliance readiness for enterprise clients

Quality Engineering (QA) Experience leading or implementing :

- Automated testing frameworks (functional, regression, performance)

- Release validation pipelines

- Quality gates before production releases

Architecture & Systems Thinking Strong understanding of :

- Distributed systems

- Microservices architecture

- Networking fundamentals

- Security best practices Ability to design resilient, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.
