About the Role

As an Associate Director, CIB Risk Framework at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in driving consistent understanding and implementation of requirements across products and regions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • • Ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and evidence standards to drive data accuracy.

  • • Facilitating alignment on risk and control expectations, governance outcomes, and risk appetite with 2LoD.

  • • Leading RMF-related change initiatives, including policy-to-process transformations and operating model improvements.

  • • Simplifying end-to-end risk and control processes by removing inefficiencies and enhancing the quality of outputs.

  • • Partnering with data/technology teams to improve workflow, automation, and analytics for digital & analytics enablement.

  • • Contributing to regulatory change and emerging risk discussions and ensuring implications are reflected in the framework.

  • • Escalating material risks, control weaknesses, or delivery blockers through appropriate channels and ensuring timely closure.
  • Qualifications required for this role include:

  • • Minimum 10 years of experience in risk management (Operational Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Audit) in Banking or Financial Services.

  • • Track record of delivering framework change, control uplift, and risk/governance transformation across regions and senior stakeholders.

  • • Strong analytical skills to identify trends, root causes, and convert data into actionable insights.

  • • Hands-on experience using AI tools, automation, and analytics to improve risk/control work, with a focus on evidence and audit trails.

  • • A "responsible AI" mindset with an understanding of model risk, data privacy, and information security.

  • • Comfortable leading or sponsoring tech-enabled change initiatives to embed tools like data workflows and automated dashboards.
