Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CTRM professional with strong functional and technical expertise in implementing and supporting leading commodity/energy trading & risk management platforms.
The ideal candidate should have end-to-end implementation experience, combines deep functional expertise in front-to-back commodity/energy trading with strong technical integration skills and delivery leadership across complex, multi-commodities and country programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Design:
- Lead solution blueprinting for physical and financial commodities across Front/Middle/Back Office (deal capture, risk, P&L, scheduling/logistics, settlements, confirmations, credit, collateral, compliance).
- Define product fit-gap and target operating model (TOM); drive configuration vs. customization decisions.
- Own the data model, valuation/risk configuration (curves, pricing indices, vol surfaces, scenarios), and risk reporting (P&L explain, VaR, Greeks where applicable).
- Architect integrations with market data, ERP (e.g., SAP), risk engines, E/SCM, pricing services, credit, and regulatory reporting via APIs, ESB, Kafka, or files.
- Govern non-functional requirements: performance, security, HA/DR, observability, auditability.
CTRM Implementation, Delivery & Project Leadership:
- Lead full-cycle implementation projects including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Lead multi-vendor, multi-stream delivery: plan, estimate, staff, track; manage scope, risks, issues, dependencies.
- Run requirements workshops, backlog grooming, and change control with Trading, Risk, Operations, Finance, Compliance.
- Oversee build, SIT, UAT, parallel run, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Own stakeholder management up to VP/CXO; present steering updates, RAID, and benefits realization.
- Manage enhancements, upgrades, and integrations across the CTRM/ETRM landscape.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend bestpractice solutions aligned with business needs.
Business & Functional Expertise:
- Understand and interpret business processes across the front, middle, and back office.
- Work closely with traders, schedulers, risk managers, and operations teams to translate requirements into system designs.
- Architect integrations with market data, ERP (e.g., SAP), risk engines, E/SCM, pricing services, credit, and regulatory reporting via APIs, ESB, Kafka, or files.
- Document functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.
- Strong understanding of commodity/energy trading domain.
- Knowledge of pricing, risk, mark-to-market (MTM), hedging, logistics, credit, and settlement processes.
Technical & Integration Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technical teams for system integrations with market data providers, ERP, risk engines, downstream reporting systems, etc.
- Support data migration, interface design, and endto-end testing activities.
- Work with vendors and internal IT on system performance, stability, and customization needs.
Project Management & Stakeholder Communication:
- Lead project workstreams, manage timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Act as primary point of contact between business teams, technology teams, and thirdparty vendors.
- Deliver user training and changemanagement sessions.
Functional Expertise:
- Strong understanding of commodity/energy trading domain.
- Knowledge of pricing, risk, mark-to-market (MTM), hedging, logistics, credit, and settlement processes.
CTRM/ETRM Platform Experience:
- Provide hands-on guidance for at least two of: Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, EKA, Amphora, Brady, Aspect, CXL, SAP TRM.
- Define and review extensions, interfaces, reports (e.g., Endur AVS/JVS, Allegro integrations, RightAngle SSIS/ETL, EKA workflows).
Technical Skills (Preferred):
- SQL, scripting, or basic development knowledge for troubleshooting.
- Experience with integration technologies (APIs, messaging, middleware).
- Understanding of cloud-based deployment (Azure/AWS) is a plus.
People & Practice:
- Mentor consultants; set standards, templates, accelerators, and best practices.
- Contribute to pre-sales: solutioning, scoping, SOWs, proposals, demos, effort models.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Leadership experience handling small to medium project teams.
Preferred Certifications (Optional):
- PMP / Agile certifications.
- Risk certifications (FRM, ERP) - beneficial but not mandatory.
